With a strike by machinists at Manitowoc Cranes’ plant in Wisconsin entering its fourth week, the company has announced it will be temporarily recalling previously laid-off members of the boilermakers union. The strike, over contract terms relating to union membership, takes place against the background of a highly-polarised local political environment.
